Fallout 5: 10 Latest Rumours You Need To Know
7. Fallout 3 Remastered Might Precede The Next Sequel
Most reports seem to agree that Fallout 5 arriving before 2020 is a big ask, but fans of wasteland wandering might not have to wait that long for another helping of it.
According to an IGN report, an enhanced remake of Fallout 3 could be in the works for current-gen consoles so players can revisit the irradiated ruins of DC in glorious HD and reminisce about the days when a 3D entry in the series was a novelty.
Rumours that the third core entry in the series is about to get some spit and polish emerged after Bethesda fought to overturn a ban on Fallout 3 imposed by German watchdogs, who adjudged the game to be “harmful to minors”.
The studio is believed to have gone through a drawn-out and expensive process to have the ban overturned, which doesn't make sense for a game which came out on previous-gen consoles back in 2008.
How many copies would they realistically sell?
Some have concluded that the only reason Bethesda would go to such lengths to have Fallout 3 removed from Germany's blacklist, is if they were planning to reissue it, and that does make sense. Perhaps Fallout 5 will be announced alongside the remastered version of the 2008 sequel?
