Fallout 5: 10 Locations We Want To See

7. Britain

As a nation with ties to both the U.S and the European Commonwealth, Britain could give us another view of the Fallout universe from a unique perspective.

With a range of distinct cultural styles to choose from (70’s Punk and football hooligans come to mind), the factions and gangs could be as colourful as any seen before. Little is known in-lore about the pre or post war state of the islands, so the possibility exists for any flavour of dystopian nightmare.

As an environment London would be a visually and technically distinct choice. With recognisable landmarks to twist, first with the classic Fallout futurist style and then with nuclear war.

The design would be as memorable as Boston or D.C. The city itself provides broad architecture and building design to play with, set in winding narrow streets above ground and the extensive labyrinth of the Underground below. The Thames river could play a key part, the environmental devastation having swelled or shrunk it with destructive effect.

As a capital full of technology and secrets, there would be no shortage of treasures to fight over. Who knows, maybe the ghoulified Queen is still kicking about in a bunker under Buckingham Palace.

My passion for all things Sci Fi goes back to my earliest days, when old VHS copies of Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet gripped my tiny mind with their big, noisy vehicles and terrifying puppets. I'd like to say my taste got more refined over the years, but between the Warhammer, Space Dandy and niche Star Wars EU books, perhaps it just got broader. I've enjoyed games of all calibre since I figured out that dice weren't just for eating, and have written prose ever since I was left unsupervised with some crayons next to a white wall. I got away with it by calling it "schoolwork" for as long as I could, and university helped me keep the charade going a while longer. Since my work began to get published, it's made all those long hours repainting the walls seem worth it.
