Fallout 5: 10 Locations We Want To See

4. Texas

Mentioned several times in previous games, Texas is an area of particular interest in the Fallout world.

We know from terminal accounts that there is a Brotherhood of Steel chapter operating somewhere in Texas. With each new Fallout game comes another opportunity to reinvent the Brotherhood; from the noble heroes of D.C to the hermits of New Vegas, to the beast slayers of West Virginia and the radical supremacists aboard the Prydwen.

Being one of the longer established chapters that we nevertheless know little about, the Texan chapter could fulfill any role the developers chose.

With its proximity to the territories of The Legion and the NCR, Texas could be the perfect stage for a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas. With oil and other industrial assets to scavenge, there is ample reason for any of these groups to go into Texas.

The sheer size of the state would be able to accommodate a vast range of environments, from wilderness reminiscent of the Mojave to huge industrial ruins, the remnants of cities, military outposts and other more esoteric things buried in the desert. With wildlife aplenty, no doubt a few vaults and wastelander communities of its own, Texas is full of potential.

My passion for all things Sci Fi goes back to my earliest days, when old VHS copies of Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet gripped my tiny mind with their big, noisy vehicles and terrifying puppets. I'd like to say my taste got more refined over the years, but between the Warhammer, Space Dandy and niche Star Wars EU books, perhaps it just got broader. I've enjoyed games of all calibre since I figured out that dice weren't just for eating, and have written prose ever since I was left unsupervised with some crayons next to a white wall. I got away with it by calling it "schoolwork" for as long as I could, and university helped me keep the charade going a while longer. Since my work began to get published, it's made all those long hours repainting the walls seem worth it.
