Fallout 5: 10 Things It Must Do Better Than 4
3. Simplified Dialogue System
What even happened here Bethesda?
Fallout 4 tried to reinvent the dialogue tree and instead managed to ruin the system entirely. This is one of the most glaringly obvious problems with Fallout 4, and something that fans have had to try and fix themselves through the use of mods.
Besides often not telling you what you're actually going to say, the dialogue tree is awful because it's way too simplistic. Each option feels like it says the same thing but in a different tone, and most of the time each prompt elicits the same response to whoever you're talking to. For an RPG, this is one of the worst things you can have.
That's why Fallout 5 needs to return to how things were done in previous Fallout games. Having a character with a voice isn't necessarily a bad thing, but making sure what he's saying is actually interesting is something that Fallout 5 absolutely can't fail on.
