One of the most beloved aspects of New Vegas is the introduction of Hardcore Mode, an ultra-challenging way to play the game in which stimpaks, RadAway and other health items only take effect over time, ammo contributes to the weight you can carry, you need to eat, drink and sleep, and recruited companions have permanent death conditions. Despite its grueling difficulty, the mode was popular with fans, and so many hoped it would be returning for F4, but perhaps because Obsidian developed it, Bethesda opted not to use it for their latest. Fingers crossed it's back for the next game, especially considering how God-like the Power Armour and stealth perks can make you feel in F4.
