Fallout 5: 13 Things We Want To See

8. Better Companion AI

Fallout 5
Bethesda

Make no mistake, the companion AI in FO4 is absolutely terrible: they will frequently run directly into enemy fire without a single shred of self-preservation, or block doorways causing your death, resulting in an experience that's nothing if not infuriatingly immersion-breaking (and just plain annoying).

Given the complexity of creating companions, it might be easiest to simply give the player more direct control over instructing them, and while that may not seem particularly immersive in of itself, it will surely result in a more cohesive, less-clunky time on the whole.

How Likely Is It?: Though a vocal portion of the fanbase do wish to retain the poor AI because of its clumsy "charm", there's enough hatred for it that Bethesda may well tighten it up at least a little.

Don't expect miracles, though. 5/10
