Fallout 5 Wishlist: 8 Rumours We Want To Come True

7. A Grand Return To Isometric Gameplay

If the next Fallout is likely to be a spin-off however, that doesn't mean that it has to follow the same template as the previous games in the series. If history has shown us anything, it's that Bethesda don't want any other studio stepping on their toes directly, preferring instead to spin-off franchises into different genres, rather cover the same ground the main games are known for.

And while there are rumblings that a Fallout MMO will be following in the footsteps of The Elder Scrolls Online, it would be even more exciting if the next spin-off returned to the franchise's isometric roots.

While Obsidian have ruled themselves out of working on New Vegas, the studio has shown its interest in returning to the franchise in some form, and an isometric Fallout game would be right up their street.

Not only are some of the developers of the original games still at the company, but the studio has made a name for itself in recent years by releasing critically acclaimed isometric RPGs like Pillars of Eternity, making them more than a perfect fit.
