Fallout 76: 10 Reasons It Failed
2. It Barely Functions
For a triple-A game released in 2018, the state that Fallout 76 is in is completely unacceptable.
Bugs are everywhere in Fallout 76, and are somehow much worse than any other Fallout game. Character models disappearing, enemies respawning in front of players and more have been spotted so far, and that's just the beginning.
Even worse than that is the connection issues, which can also completely wipe any progress made on the game since logging in. This is to be expected of an early release, but the problems are still ongoing right now.
The excuse that this is a Bethesda game is not a valid one, and that should no longer be accepted for any of the titles that they release. Yes, they do make big worlds with plenty in them, but so do companies like Rockstar and their titles are nothing like this.
This would be another benefit of going free-to-play, as it would have at least given Bethesda a little bit of leeway on how the game performs.
