Fallout 76: 10 Things You Must Do First
4. Set Up A Camp

Fallout 4 memorably introduced base-building mechanics for the first time in the series, and it makes a modified return this time around.
Players are able to build a camp for themselves from early on, and if you've listened to the prior advice about scavenging, that'll serve you well when it comes to constructing your camp.
The beauty of Fallout 76's camp system is myriad. For starters, you're freely able to convert it into a blueprint, pack it up and move it elsewhere whenever you like (for a small cost, of course).
Also, the camp serves as a free fast travel option - and you can even fast travel to friends' camps - so it's recommended you try and plonk your settlement near an area rich in resources and loot if at all possible.
Also, you'll probably want to fortify it with a turret as soon as you can, for protection and all. Thankfully the camps aren't persistent, though, so there's no danger of you logging on to find it ransacked by creatures while you were sleeping or down the pub: it exists in the world just as you do.
