Fallout 76: 10 Things You Must Do First

3. Fill Up Your Inventory Wheel

It goes without saying that one of the first things to do in Fallout 76 is get yourself sufficiently armed, and ensure that you have emergency weapons just a tap away to quickly deal with a threat.

After all, there's no pausing in the game's online world, so you may need to quickly snap out of a menu, pull out a pistol and start wailing away on an assailant.

It's also a damn good idea to assign as many weapons and items as possible to your inventory wheel, because if your favourited weapons run out of ammo, you'll otherwise have to dive back into the Pip-Boy menu while a scorcher is blasting away at your face.

Needless to say, with some of the game's tougher enemies, you'll be ended before you even have a chance to get back in the fight.

Though the inventory wheel is itself a little fiddly and awkward from a controls perspective, it at least allows you to hammer some health items or quickly pull out a shotgun and finish the job.

It's extremely important to have as many quick and versatile combat options as possible in the game's unforgiving world, so don't create extra busy-work for yourself.
