With Fallout 4's big push for the crafting features, it is surprising that they overlooked one of the most fleshed out crafting mechanics in the entire series. The ammo crafting from New Vegas was hardly refined, but it was useful to tinker around, figuring it all out.

Fallout 4 had so many options when it came to crafting that it seems like not letting the player craft the primary consumable of the game was a major oversight and one that should be corrected in Fallout 76.

It makes no sense as to why they wouldn't. They have a system in place, it's as simple as changing the wooden structure option to .50 calibre bullets, and messing around with the item requirements.
