Fallout 76: 9 New Features We Can't Wait To Try
2. Co-Op
For the purists looking for a single-player RPG first and a multiplayer experience second, Bethesda's not about to produce the middle finger and betray its core audience. Fallout 76 can be enjoyed to its fullest from start to finish as a solo experience, but it just so happens to support online multiplayer too, and if that's not enough on its own to get die-hard lone wolves interested in surviving the post-apocalypse with a dear friend, nothing will.
A Bethesda-made multiplayer title has, after all, been the dream of many stretching all the way back to Morrowind, and while it's not Elder Scrolls that gets to go first (ESO excluded), how Fallout 76 plays out will no doubt shape Bethesda's plans for ESO VI and beyond.
At E3, Todd Howard was keen to stress that players will be sharing Fallout 76's playable space with tens, not thousands of other players, meaning that while encountering others will be possible, it won't be commonplace. It's the best course of action, especially for a title set in the post-apocalypse and, above all else, will help to spice up the world as you go about your daily routine.
