Perhaps the biggest clue as to how the new spinoff is going to play, however, comes from sources who have claimed that it's heavily influenced by Rust and DayZ.

Admittedly, this comparison is a little worrying. Survival games like those, while initially the "next big thing", are now a dime a dozen, and there hasn't really been a game that's come along and done the formula well in a while.

Still, those influences fit with the survival theme 76 is charging ahead with, and the idea of two strangers running into each other, clad in bright blue vault uniforms and with guns at the ready to defend their supplies, would be right at home in this world.

Bethesda haven't put a foot wrong yet, an even if it turns out terrible it will be interesting to see how they tackle an AAA game that's influenced by these multiplayer experiences.
