Fallout 76: Every Gameplay & Plot Detail You Need To Know

8. Virginia Is The Setting

Though Bethesda themselves haven't officially confirmed the setting for the next Fallout, it's all but certainly going to Virginia. The first clue was pretty obvious: John Denver's classic song Country Roads, Take Me Home, which played throughout the trailer.

While that in itself was a pretty on-the-nose reference to the setting, if you dig into the lore about Vault 76 itself, there are terminal entries which point to it being located somewhere in Virginia. In the context of the franchise, this part of America would make for a welcome change of pace for fans, as it would mark a pretty major shift away from the more densely-populated cities of Fallout 3 and 4.

That said, it's still entirely on-brand, as it fits in with the vintage Americana and patriotic sensibilities the franchise thrives on, especially if Bethesda decide to centre the game around...
