Fallout: New Vegas - 10 Things Nobody Admits It Did Better Than 3

5. Fewer, More Significant Vaults

Although Fallout: New Vegas featured the signature series Vaults in a more limited capacity than previous entries into the series, the few underground strongholds you could visit all told their own unique story, and each one felt significant and important in the context of the world. In Obsidian's game the Vaults weren't just another copied and pasted dungeon interior, but difficult challenges that were home to numerous different quests and unique enemies. Whether one had been taken over by a toxic plant-like infection after botching a world-changing farming invention or whether another had been overtaken by a notorious gang of Raiders, each location in New Vegas came with its own personalised story, with the classic Vault iconography being warped into something uniquely twisted every single time. While, like in three, they were still incredibly frustrating to navigate, New Vegas packed its Vaults with so many secrets and details to uncover that each one felt like a supremely rewarding mini-adventure in its own right.
