Fallout: Ranking Every Add-On From Worst To Best

10. Automatron (Fallout 4)

Fallout New Vegas Old World Blues
Bethesda

Automatron was an incredibly silly, but rather fun first expansion for Fallout 4

Seeing as how the entire point of Automatron was to pay homage to 1950s sci-fi, the silliness of the Mechanist sending her robotic minions to wreak havoc on the Commonwealth is honestly pretty welcome.

Speaking of the Mechanist, seeing an updated version of the Fallout 3 character was a great treat, as well as a lesson in self-aware fanservice done right. This add-on also introduced the Rust Devils faction, which was another nice touch, as they added some much-needed personality to Fallout 4's raider gangs.

Automatron does still fall into some of the same traps as Mothership Zeta and Operation: Anchorage, however. It's very short story-wise and has a lot of rinse-and-repeat gameplay. In addition, the robot-building suite is another quirky settlement tool that you probably won't use more than once.

In the end, this expansion is far from essential, but is at least an enjoyable way to kill a couple of hours.
