6. The Great Deku Tree - Malcolm McDowell

It's tough to think of how best to cast a talking tree, as it could very quickly feel far too ridiculous to make sense. However, the most logical option would be to bring in a big-name actor, to grace the series with a reputable name and to establish a sense of importance and gravitas in this powerful piece of the Legend of Zelda puzzle.

This decorated performer - best known for his leading performance in Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange - would undoubtedly draw an eye or two, and his fantastic voice would capture The Great Deku Tree's spirit sublimely.

McDowell brings out all the best qualities in a dramatic voice. He can capture high-status thanks to his resonant pitch and well-spoken accent but has a softness that makes him easy to listen to. There's also an underlying sinister side to his performances that make his characters tread between light and shade well, which would make this wise character share a little bit of edge.

It's also clear that he has a great sense of humour, as can be seen from his guest role in South Park as A British Person. So, there's no reason to suspect he'd be against playing a talking tree.
