8. Far Cry 2 - Watching Fire Spread
One of Far Cry 2's most outstanding features was how it handled fire and how it realistically spread. Finally, molotov cocktails that are actually worth a damn!
Although later games in the series have all featured a similar system for fire as Far Cry 2, it was this game that really introduced it as a staple feature. Unlike other games where fire generally just causes a splash, fire envelops pretty much everything on the African Savannah.
Not only is it a fantastic visual spectacle watching the fire spread across the dry grass and trees, it's also a great gameplay mechanic that can help even the odds in any sort of fight. It also fits Far Cry 2's setting of Africa perfectly, which can't have been an accident.
Watching this happen for the first time is truly one of Far Cry 2's coolest moments and something that no other Far Cry can truly replicate no matter how hard they try.
