7. Far Cry Primal - Woolly Mammoth Opening
It isn't just Blood Dragon that had a badass opening.
Primal's beginning section starts you off by hunting one of the most dangerous animals ever known to man (well, early man) - the Woolly Mammoth. You can't really get much bigger than that.
Unfortunately that sentiment was something that Primal stuck by a little too closely, as the rest of the game wasn't really very impressive, copy pasted map and all.
Still, for that glorious first hour of Primal, you really see just how much effort Ubisoft put into making a brand new Far Cry experience that somehow still fits into the series. Even after taking out the Woolly Mammoth, the rest of the next hour of the game is still pretty fascinating and full of innovative ideas.
If only the game really did go up from this moment. It could really have been the most interesting game the series had ever seen. Still a great intro though.
