Far Cry 5: 10 Things We Can't Wait To Do
7. Go Co-Op With AI Buddies Or Online With Real Buddies
Open-world games are always more fun played co-operatively. Ever since Halo 3 did it so brilliantly - some ten years ago! - co-op campaigns usually hit gamers' wishlists during development. It doesn't always make the cut, of course, since there are always far greater numbers of players headed for straight up competitive multiplayer modes.
But Far Cry has consistently used online co-op modes or AI buddies to deliver novel experiences. Far Cry 2 had a revival system where AI buddies would revive and assist you during particularly hellish gunfights. FC3 let you jump into a 2-4 player co-op mode similar to something like Zombies from Call of Duty or Left4Dead, where you played as characters that weren't part of the main story but still had their own "island experience". FC4 had drop-in, drop-out online co-op that made infiltration and outpost takeovers much easier.
With 5, AI and co-op modes look like it'll make a real difference this time to the way you'll approach encounters and the expanded open world should make for greater types of playstyles.
