Far Cry: Every Game Ranked Worst To Best
5. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Not a full sequel yet not technically DLC, Blood Dragon was an entirely new standalone experience that used the third release as a jumping off point to go in a ridiculous, brilliant new direction.
Dropping the seriousness that occasionally dragged the third game down, this expansion was a loving ode to cheesy '80s sci-fi, smearing everything in a VHS lens, lighting everything up in neon and even casting Michael Biehn as the voice of the main character.
Because it wasn't technically a full sequel, the game's mission variety and level of content in general was a little lacking, but as a shorter, more biting experience, what's there more is more than enough.
Despite being a budget title, Blood Dragon was bursting with more ideas than you'd find in most main-series instalments, and it's a shame that Ubisoft have never quite capitalised on how great this weird experiment was.
