3 - Attention To Detail
When FIFA first made waves in the gaming world it had a very basic format. It was a simple concept, pitting eleven bricky players against eleven bricky players with no sense of direction. Now, the game is famous for its attention to detail; not just on the intricate design of the kit but the gameplay too. Everything from a player's first touch to their dribble skills are all developed to make the game feel true to real life. This year's trailer includes a few shots of players like Nani flicking the ball between his virtual feet before powering forward into the box. This is something that was pretty accurate on 12, if you took the time to learn the skills, but an even greater engine would do wonders for fans of individual class. There are also a few little details that could be the difference between a cup final and an embarrassing early exit. Like getting to the ball a fraction of a second before the opposition and being able to touch it around their legs, or controlling the ball with your player's knee to set up an unlikely shot.
