FIFA 14: 10 EPL Players Who Will Definitely Be Over-Rated

3. Yohan Cabaye

Team: Newcastle United This summer has seen any number of transfer sagas, sending Jim White's head into a comical, Exorcist-style spin, and none can have been as frustrating as the saga of No Transfers at Newcastle United. Famously frugal, the owner so far has made one loan signing, and shipped out a fair number of so-called "fringe" players, to make an already thin squad "stronger" for the coming season. That hasn't gone down too well with fans, who clearly play a lot of Football Manager, and prefer when managers can stand for pre-season promo photo shoots flanked by at least 10 new players (despite the obvious effect that had on QPR last year) and what has made those grumbles louder is the relatively "new" Yohan Cabaye saga. He's probably off to pastures new - whether that's in England or not - and Alan Pardew has said he'll only go for the going rate for "world class players" - i.e. world class money. Sadly for Pardew, Mike Ashley and Cabaye, his performances last year were some way away from world class: in the grand scheme of things, Shola Ameobi probably pushed the term closer for qualification. He was disinterested, uncommitted and frequently injured, and though his range of passing, and his ability to hit freekicks onto a postage stamp are great, his performances last year warrant neither the hyperbole from fans and manager, or the inevitably inflated rating he will get on FIFA 14.
