FIFA 14 Rating: 83 After an outstanding 2012/13 season in which Boateng was a key part of the treble-winning Bayern Munich team, it seemed like the German centre back couldnt do much more to improve on his FIFA 14 rating of 83 (originally 81). However, he was a vital part of the defensive unit which facilitated the Bavarians uncontested domination of the Bundesliga and was equally crucial in Germanys emerging as the tournament champions in Brazil. Though he is relatively quiet and reserved off the pitch, while playing Boateng is ruthless, using his size, strength and natural athleticism to commit to crunching tackles. Boateng is also deceptively skilful on the ball, with good dribbling skills and the ability to use both feet (4-star weak foot). The 25-year-old has also proven himself to be very capable in the air, combining his 64 frame with explosive jumping. The former Manchester City defender who is already one of the best centre backs in the Bundesliga on FIFA 14 is apparently set to be improved even more on FIFA 15. Though the prospect of facing a team with this versatile centre back is already a daunting one, its hard to deny that his performances from last season havent earned him an upgrade.
