FIFA 15: 10 New Premier League Transfers Who Should Be Rated Highest

6. Eliaquim Mangala €“ 82 (FIFA 14 €“ 81)

If there was one key weakness in the Manchester City side it was their centre back situation. The side€™s over-reliance on club captain Vincent Kompany over the past few seasons has been dangerous and City have looked like a different beast in the game€™s when their best defender has been unable to play. The signing of Eliaquim Mangala €“ joining his teammate Fernando from Porto €“ for a princely sum of £32 million should finally give the Premier League champions some depth at the back. At 23-years-old the French defender already shows many of the traits of a player who could develop into one of the world€™s great centre backs. Mangala is a gifted athlete, combining strength with impressive pace for a 6€™2€ defender. During his time at Porto, Mangala proved himself to be devastating in the air (reflected in his 87 heading accuracy on FIFA 14). He will doubtless use his explosiveness and size to score some vital goals for Manchester City from set pieces. £32 million may seem like a lot of money but Mangala could well prove to be an excellent investment by City. At a relatively young age the Frenchman will continue to improve and could become one of the league€™s best central defenders.
