FIFA 16: 10 Ways To Improve Manager Mode

9. Refine The Player Interaction

Manager Mode players will be used to the inexplicable sight of an 18 year old fringe player popping their head round the door and asking to start in a top of the table clash. Those same players will be familiar with the feeling of abject fury when that player then comes to them after the game (after being left out for their hubris) and claims that they felt they were in good form and should have started.

There needs to be clearer interaction between manager and players. Instead of being told that a player is unhappy after the fact, players should be able to tell their star striker that they're performing worse than James Franco at the Oscars and are being dropped in favour of a precocious talent from the youth ranks.

It would also be nice to see player personalities more akin to their perceived real life counterparts. Liverpool fans wouldn't be surprised to see Raheem Sterling demanding £360,000-a-week so does he have to be such a wallflower in FIFA?

Too much of FIFA 15's Manager Mode feels like pulling twenty five Tamagotchis along on a string and without serious improvements to interaction and player personalities its inexorable march toward the scrapheap will doubtless continue.
