Obviously the idea of glory with England seems like some an odd fantastical day dream. But given the fact the story of the Journey ended with Alex's first senior call up to the England squad, this absolutely would have to be explored.

International football has lost some of its shine these days, with club football being the preference for most, but the ability to play for England as Hunter may just reignite a flame of passion for the national team. If there is a second instalment of The Journey, the timeline probably wouldn't reach the 2018 World Cup. However, the story could follow the path to the tournament via the qualifiers.

This would mean that Hunter would have to re-unite with arch nemesis Gareth Walker. This could create an interesting dynamic, would they play together for England or would they fight for the same position? Regardless, it would make for interesting character development on both sides.
