FIFA 18: 10 Improvements We Want To See In Career Mode
4. More Realistic Player Behaviour
It's inconceivable that Gareth Bale would be willing to swap Madrid for Merseyside and begin plying his trade at Goodison Park, but more than one gamer has logged this happening in FIFA 17. This is part of the scripted 'homesickness' that some players feel in the game, a situation so severe that Bale wants to play for Everton.
No season can pass by without at least one of your prized assets deciding they're just not feeling too great. "It's not you, it's me", they cry, like an ex-girlfriend who (ironically) would get in the way of epic FIFA sessions with your mates.
This sort of thing shouldn't be happening so often. It's cool that EA want to add a human touch to FIFA, but - much like the transfer market - this needs to be tempered slightly.
A player suddenly deciding they're homesick after spending years at your club just doesn't make sense, and it removes some enjoyment when managers are powerless to stop the board selling a top player to a low-level club just because they're mildly unhappy.
