FIFA 18 Wishlist: 10 Things That Must Be Included

9. Better Manager Likenesses

FIFA 17’s manager likenesses weren’t entirely bad Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola, and a handful of others looked just like their real-life counterparts, adding another of authenticity to the FIFA experience. It’s these little touches that set FIFA’s presentation aside from the competition, and make 17 one of the most polished football games of all-time.

Not all manager likenesses are created equally, however. Apparently, the picture above is supposed to be Sunderland’s craggy-faced Scottish manager, David Moyes. Sadly, the model looks more like a Ronald Koeman action figure that was left in the sun for too long, which makes a mockery of the effort EA put into implementing real-life managers into last year’s game.

Inaccurate managers aren’t a huge deal, but it’s definitely jarring when the camera swings round to the touchline and fills your screen with a horrendous likeness. FIFA’s player likenesses have always been inconsistent, but accurate managers are few and far between, and this area clearly needs some work. Tightening this aspect of the game up will add the slick professionalism that FIFA is known for to the dugout, and hopefully give poor old Mr. Moyes one less reason to be miserable on Wearside..
