FIFA 19: 10 Improvements We Want To See In Career Mode

4. Press Conferences That Mirror Negotiations

In theory, praising or unnerving in FIFA's press conferences either boosts your team, sends them onto the park full of jitters, flusters an opponent or does their team talk for them. This is EA's way of trying to mimic the pre-match jousting between managers in the newspapers and online, but it's a flawed, limited system.

The negotiation screens may not be perfect, and yet they boast several different paths that reflect genuine conversations. It's high-time the press conference mechanic was overhauled completely and started to copy what's happening on EA's new transfer feature.

Otherwise, players will continue to skip past those sim-stopping press comments.

Seeing any fallout at all from what's said to the press is a much-needed addition to FIFA 19's Career Mode. There's a real lack of sizzle when all managers can do is potentially (but probably not) have an effect on the way the next match is played.

All it seems to do for now is give Tyler and Smith a contextual line or two to say on commentary, and that's not enough.
