FIFA 19: 9 New Rumours You Need To Know

6. Nintendo Switch Will Get A "Legacy" Version?

It looks like EA plan to prolong the life span of creaking consoles like the Xbox 360 and PS3 by continuing to release FIFA on them. Of course, those systems won't match the version seen on PC, PS4 or Xbox One, but at least those gamers clinging on to their old hardware have a choice.

Nintendo Switch will, pretty much, be in the same boat.

EA have already confirmed that the Switch version of FIFA 19 won't use the flashy Frostbite engine Sony and Microsoft's latest systems do. Now, there are fan rumours on social media that the game will be little more than a roster and kit update on Nintendo's unit. If true, that'd make it a "Legacy Edition" rather than a fully-fleshed game.

PS Vita owners will know all about the perils of this, and so will 360 and PS3 owners. At least EA were up front about things on the latter two consoles though. It'd be very disappointing for Switch owners if they got a retooled FIFA 18 with 19 slapped on the box.
