When football aficionados think about the greatest goalkeepers in the history of the game, one of the first names brought up is that of Dino Zoff.

Already, FIFA Ultimate Team has featured three other all-time goalkeeping greats – Lev Yashin, Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar – and those three are the other names usually alongside Zoff when it comes to the best ever between the sticks.

Whereas Yashin is favoured for his athleticism, Schmeichel is favoured for his strong personality, and van der Sar was known for his reassuring presence, Zoff was more of a no-frills goalkeeper who did all of the basics well. Very well, in fact. It was the Italian’s calm, steady approach that so often led to him not even really being needed to pull off too many elaborate saves - so good was his positional sense and awareness.

With six Serie A titles, a European Championship and a World Cup to his name, Dino Zoff has as good a claim as any to be featured in FIFA 20’s Ultimate Team mode.
