FIFA 20 Career Mode: 10 Ways EA Can REALLY Fix It
7. Proper Storylines
Those storylines could even extend to the playing staff or elsewhere in the game world.
Remember that period in 2016 when everyone and their dog became a Leicester City fan? Folks from around the world couldn't resist the romance. Here was a minnow, who had barely escaped relegation the season before, being crowned champions of England. It was magical, and it's precisely the kind of thing football fans live for.
Similarly organic, left-field majesty should be incorporated into FIFA 20's Career Mode. It'd be exciting if there were storylines both good and bad as well. What if Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho suddenly decided he'd had enough of the Bundesliga and wanted a return to the Premier League? Countless cut scenes and newspaper snippers could be dedicated to the race for his signature.
That's a storyline, not someone randomly getting upset for 10 minutes because they've been left out of the match day squad when recovering from injury. Stories need a bit more length, a bit more oomph, and they need to become important facets of the Career Mode experience.
