FIFA 20 Career Mode: 10 Ways EA Can REALLY Fix It
3. Chairman Mode
Fans of EA's Madden series will have their own laundry list of grips, but everyone can agree that playing as an owner instead of a coach in Franchise Mode there livens things up a bit. Business sim elements become part of the package, and it's a guilty pleasure to decide on off-the-field things like improving stadium seating, renovating the toilets and other such pursuits.
This sim-lite feel should make the leap to FIFA, and soon.
In a new 'Chairman Mode', players would have the chance to market their club off the pitch, securing advertising partners, lucrative international tours pre-season and more. If EA are feeling saucy, they could even let gamers mix things up with the generic stadia on offer and move to a bigger one eventually.
Like in Madden, it'd still be possible to actually play the matches and assume the role of coach too by selecting tactics, handling transfers and doing everything else EA already let bosses do. However, there'd be more emphasis on making the club selected feel like your own.
