FIFA 22 Review: 7 Ups & 5 Downs

2. Overpowered Heading

Expect this to be patched out soon.

Attempt a header with top stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and you'll likely bag it into the top corner every single time. That might sound fine in theory, but headers from the edge of the box loop unrealistically over keepers far too often this year. This leads to infuriating moments aplenty if you're on the receiving end.

At times, it's like watching a digital version of yourself in goals for Real Madrid. That's...not good. Heading defo needs to be softened just a tad. Otherwise, the fact that goalies have been upgraded (they're now much better during one-on-one situations) will look like a sick joke when crosses fly into the box.

There doesn't seem to be much middle ground with headers either. Even 65-rated centre backs have neck muscles on them like Brock Lesnar, and that makes defending set pieces more pot luck than skill. EA need to have a right good think about this.
