FIFA 23: 10 Big Changes EA Sports Need To Revitalise The Franchise

6. Lessen The Focus On Competitive Gameplay

Wherever you look FIFA has become a grind, especially in Ultimate Team. To be competitive you need to be constantly playing. For professionals, this might not be a bad thing, but for casual players it spoils the fun.

Across FIFA, new modes have been added in recent years to try and put some fun back into the series, but the most prominent mode - Ultimate Team - remains a horrendous experience for players who don't want every game to have that edge.

The areas of Ultimate Team where you will spend the majority of your time will be Rivals Matches or Weekend League. However, with the rewards on offer and limited matches available for both, every game you play will be a battle, with players doing anything they can to get a win to improve their club.

It is a problem that exists across gaming, not just FIFA, but Ultimate Team remains so competitive it takes the fun out of playing.

If you don't have much time to play on a weekly basis you won't be able to keep up in Ultimate Team, and everything EA Sports has done in recent years with their main mode has continued to make this less fun for non-serious players.
