FIFA 23 Review: 8 Ups & 6 Downs

1. Playable Highlights

FIFA 23
EA Sports

Have you ever sat down to watch Match Of The Day and wondered what it'd be like to play through the best moments from those highlight packages? Well, thanks to FIFA 23's "Playable Highlights" feature in Career Mode, you can. That's exactly what EA stuck in as the major addition for the mode here.

Playing through a game's highlights is preferable to simming them then jumping into the action - that was a nice addition last year, but this blows it out of the water. There's even a choice between exclusively playing your team's attacking moments or leaping in to stop opposition counters too.

How ace is that?!

Anyone who finds full matches a slog in Career, or doesn't like leaving things to chance in sim will get a ton out of these "Playable Highlights". Put it this way: You'll be able to whizz through a full season in an hour or two (maybe even quicker if you don't stop to properly manage the squad).
