9. Wakka (Final Fantasy X)
The minigames of Final Fantasy are some of the best around, with VIII's Triple Triad card game as probably the most popular. VII had the Gold Saucer arcades, IX featured Tetra Master another card battler and X had blitzball. The most popular sport in Spira, blitzball is played in a sphere of water, and is a kind of amalgamation of football and rugby; the objective is to put the ball into the opposing team's triangular goal. In Final Fantasy X, individual battles and by extension, games are played out based on the stats of the players involved. For instance, if you level Tidus up enough and give him awesome abilities (like the improbably skilful Jecht Shot), he is more likely to beat a low-level goalkeeper than a veteran one. It makes sense that Wakka, whose weapons in the main game are blitzballs, is the face of this hypothetical spin-off (maybe he could provide gameplay tutorials in the early game). Basically, it could be a kind of FIFA/PES-style affair rather than a Fire Emblem-like strategy game, with career, exhibition, tournament modes and such. Perhaps there could be an additional story mode where the player controls the Aurochs and takes them to blitzball world domination.
