Those who completed the side mission "Corneo's Secret Stash" may have noticed a peculiar similarity between the three items you receive and specific enemies from the 1997 original game.

Throughout the side quest, you are running around the slums of Midgar searching for three doors with Corneo's insignia. Players may have bumped into the doors earlier in the game, but the key needed to unlock them doesn't become available until Chapter 14.

Within each treasure trove of google medals, materia, and accessories, is a chest containing a tiara. A diamond tiara, an emerald tiara, and a ruby tiara. These are non-equippable and are intended to be given to an NPC.

In the original Final Fantasy 7, the tiaras were part of Cloud's disguise to sneak into Don Corneo's mansion. Depending on which of the three Cloud wore, his chances of being picked by the Don went up, Diamond being the best choice.

Keen-eyed fans may have recognized the shapes of the tiaras are different in the Remake. That's right. Each piece of jewelry references one of the Weapon Bosses from the original game. If you look at the items you can just make out the forms of Ruby Weapon, Emerald Weapon, and Diamond Weapon.

Perhaps the safest way to enjoy these rage-inducing weapons.
