Final Fantasy 7 Remake: 10 BEST Easter Eggs, Secrets & References

3. Rude Being Rude

Since the Remake only takes place during the Midgar section of Final Fantasy 7, Square Enix was presented with interesting prospects. Characters could be fleshed out more with unique nuisances that were otherwise impossible to achieve in the classic game and the limitations of hardware in the late 90s.

Rude and Reno were two characters who benefitted from this deep dive into detail. The Turks constantly hounding Aerith and Cloud came even more alive than their 1997 counterparts. Particularly in one small, blink and you'll miss it scene.

During the attack on the Sector 7 plate pillar, Rude and Reno are seen inside a helicopter firing at Avalanche. However, when Tifa begins her ascent there is a moment Reno attempts to shoot her. Rude purposefully ruins the shot without explanation.

Those who played the original game will know exactly why he did this.

In the classic game, there is a short scene in Gongaga where Reno asks Rude who he likes. Rude reveals he likes Tifa. This small detail is clearly still true for the Remake and, hopefully, will present interesting encounters in the future.
