Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2: 7 Enemies We NEED To Fight

1. The Weapons

In the universe of FFVII, Weapons are guardians of the planet (with the very notable exception of Omega).

Each has a unique design and, according to series tradition, some of them appear as optional mega-bosses, ready to test your willingness to grind levels instead of sleeping.

If you played the original to full completion, you will have fond memories of Emerald Weapon – skulking around the ocean depths – or of refusing to fly low in the Highwind, lest you bump into the colossal Ruby Weapon, sprouting out the desert to annihilate you.

The Weapons' appearance in the main story added an exciting new element to the eco-focused themes, and came with some marvellous cutscenes and action sequences. Just think how these creatures could translate in the ultra-cinematic Remake, particularly in battles.

Depending on the environments utilised and combat mechanics added, we could end up seeing something more akin to Shadow of the Colossus or God of War than traditional Final Fantasy battles. Whether that's a good or bad thing is for each player to decide.

The creative powers behind Remake have a rich and diverse bank of enemies to draw from, and have boldly stated their intent to subvert expectations going forward.

Let's just hope we don't have to wait until 2097 for the Remake Project to be finished.
