Final Fantasy VII Remake: 10 Essential New Features It Needs

1. Revisit The Story

Final Fantasy VII's story and characters completely blew both me and everyone else away when we first played it. I became so obsessed with the world that I sought out countless fanfic stories set after the game to see what could happen next.

But I was also fourteen when I first played the game. And replaying it now, the warts are definitely visible. There are a number of story errors that could be improved upon.

As one example, the world of Gaia isn't always portrayed consistently. Shinra has all this technology and vehicles, but they need to borrow Cid Highwind's tiny one-man plane to go after Sephiroth?

The love triangle between Cloud, Aerith and Tifa is woefully underdeveloped and after the Gold Saucer date, none of those interactions seem to matter anymore.

There's also the matter of the actual story plot, including one of the biggest plot points and that is the death of Aerith. For years, rumours persisted on the Internet that Aerith could be resurrected. How cool would it be if that were actually an option for people who wanted to embark on the quest?

But no matter what, keep some of the goofy humour. Things like Cloud having to cross-dress to save Tifa (which has been confirmed in the remake) provide fun distractions in an otherwise dark world of global extinction and genetic engineering.
