Final Fantasy VII Remake: 10 Essential New Features It Needs

2. Integrate The Compilation Materials

Final Fantasy VII Remake
Square Enix

The Compilation of Final Fantasy VII was a metaseries Square Enix produced that consisted of Advent Children, Crisis Core, Before Crisis, Dirge of Cerberus and a bunch of other tie-in media. Some were set before FF7 and some after.

But very few of these offerings are available on other platforms. Want to play Crisis Core? You need a PSP. Dirge of Cerberus? Fire up your PS2. Before Crisis? Yeah, that's not going to happen - the mobile game was only released in Japan for Japanese phones and has never gotten a western release (or even a smartphone port in Japan).

It's time to bring these additional entries to the series to other platforms. There's no real reason why they shouldn't be available on the PlayStation Network or in the case of Before Crisis, on modern-day smartphones.

Integrate these into the FF7 remake. Have them as playable options that come packaged as part of the game. Lots of FF7 fans in the west have longed to get the chance to experience these things and they deserve to be ported so people can either re-experience them again or experience them for the very first time.

Even though some of these entries have received mixed reviews, it's still a shame that we can't have access to them on more platforms.
