Final Fantasy VII Remake: 10 Essential New Features It Needs

6. Focus On Other Characters

In FF7, you can select a party of three from a total of nine characters. But despite that, there are some characters who get a little shortchanged in terms of development and exposure.

The game is very Cloud-centered and the same goes for Advent Children. We get some deeper insight into a few characters during the course of the game; Tifa, Aerith, Barret, and Cid get a good amount of development.

Some of the others are a little more vague. Even though we learn about Red XIII's history, his personality is kind of all over the place, sometimes being very wise and intelligent and other times being much more playful and childlike.

Vincent maintains an air of mystery about him, but with the exception of the visit to Lucrecia's cave, there's not much we can learn about him.

Delving into the other characters with almost as much attention as is given to Cloud would be a wonderful change for FF7 fans. We've spent close to twenty years experiencing Cloud's story, now is the perfect opportunity to let us discover more about the rest of the group.

Some more consistent portrayals of the characters and giving us the chance to rediscover them and possibly get some new insights into who they are would be a wonderful change of pace.
