One of the first puzzles that Noctis solves in the Pitioss Ruins is to unleash a huge metal ball that smashes the head and arm off of the huge statue holding the door closed to the next room.

There are a couple of theories surrounding this statue.

Firstly, that Ifrit summoned a meteor – represented by the metal sphere – which smashed into the god that was holding the world up above the underworld. The most obvious candidate here would be Titan – the astral we find trapped beneath a meteor.

The more obscure theory instead identifies this statue as Gilgamesh. After the statue is smashed, the main body breaks apart from the left arm – the same arm that Gilgamesh happens to be missing.

We also see this arm a number of other times throughout Ifrit's descent into the underworld, including the last reference where it is fused alongside Doomtrain.
