Final Fantasy XV: 10 Perfect Fan Theories That Make Everything Better
6. Noctis Is Part-Astral
Ifrit's descent into the underworld to recover Eos rests on the back that she was being punished for having a relationship with a human, supported by Noctis being able to find, in the statue of Eos' belly button, Genji Gloves. Genji, in Japanese, translates as twins.
There are a lot of rumours about who these twins might have been, though the jury is still out. However, the main theory prevails that whomever the children were, they were the ancestors of the Lucis Kings and the Oracles.
Perhaps these families weren't gifted their abilities (to battles daemons and Starscourge, respectively) as explained in the Cosmogony books, but 'gift' is a metaphor for genetic inheritance – the same way one might say intelligence is a gift from one's parents.
This theory is far from water tight, but allows us a more substantial explanation to why only Noctis and his ancestors can wield the Ring of Lucii, while others – such as Ravus – are injured or killed by it.
Even Nyx Ulric in Kingsglaive, who proves himself worthy of wielding the Ring's power, is only able to for one night before turning to ash - yet Noctis can wield it for many years.
