Square Enix have gone on record as saying that Final Fantasy XV is "about 55%" complete, causing some fans to groan with discontent. The project is already known for having been in development for a huge amount of time, with over eight years under its belt so far. Despite this, the developers seem confident that they'll be able to complete the game within a reasonable amount of time. "When asked if it's going to take another eight years: definitely not," claims director Hajime Tabata. "I'm afraid we can't say how long it's going to take from here. But, since the transition to XV, we've gotten this far in two years." When speaking on the upcoming demo, he went on to claim, "because there are fans that have been waiting for eight years, and because it's in a playable state, we want to bring it to the fans as quickly as possible."
