The setting, gameplay and visual style of Final Fantasy XV is so drastically different from the rest of the series that some fans have feared it just won't feel like a 'real' Final Fantasy title. In particular, it seemed like the iconic summons may not be making their return this time round. Fortunately, it was confirmed at the Tokyo Game Show that these summons will indeed be seeing a return, in an even grander way than ever before. Like many previous entries, players will need to defeat the summons in order to be able to call them into battle. Each summon will be based around the ranking system, with higher ranks increasing their physical size. One of these summons, Leviathan, is shown in the gameplay trailer, and its colossal size represents one of the top-level summons.
