First WWE 2K16 Footage - Everything You Need To Know
6. A Greater Focus On Grappling
In terms of gameplay, it sounds like WWE 2K16 will make some fairly big changes which promise to enhance the overall experience and continue to move this series a step closer to becoming a full on simulation. The most significant addition to this instalment is the return of chain grappling, and there will now be a greater focus on transition moves which reflect the respective Superstar's actual in ring abilities. How? Well, they will be largely dictated by the attribute values of the wrestler you're playing as. This will apparently lead to ties between competitors, thereby giving players the chance to break the hold if they're the face or throw in a cheap parting shot for good measure as a heel. 2K also announced plans for what the call "working" grapples; these will allow the initiating wrestler to actually rest up and regain some of their lost stamina while keeping their opponent incapacitated and actually draining their stamina bar. This should come as welcome news to anyone who found themselves left completely useless in a match after running out of stamina in 2K15! Overall, it sounds like 2K has found a way of incorporating what actually happens in a wrestling match into this game in a way which ends up improving the realism and enjoyability factor of playing. It's hard to complain about that!
