First WWE 2K16 Footage - Everything You Need To Know

1. Some Significant Changes

Overall, WWE 2K16 sounds like the very different game which 2K15 failed to be. While the previous instalment definitely shook up the gameplay in a significant way, the many omissions of fan-favourite modes - most of which are retuning in this year's game - overshadowed that somewhat. In the WWE's second New Gen outing, it seems like Visual Concepts and Yukes may have perfected what they started last year. Other changes revealed at Gamescom which should shake up the franchise included confirmation that John "Bradshaw" Layfield will be joining Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler as part of a three man announce booth, a first for this series. JBL can't be heard in the gameplay videos released, so that's presumably something they're still working on. Another cool - but potentially tedious - alteration to how the game can be played is the ability to attack an opponent during their entrance. While this is something which happens on WWE programming, it's going to get old real fast if it's something which the person you're playing against does in every single match! It's still a fun little addition which shakes things up though. It may still be too early to say for sure that WWE 2K16 is going to be the WWE game that we've all been waiting for, but the footage and details revealed at Gamescom at least serve as proof that the franchise may finally be getting there...
